As well as comfortable beds and complimentary breakfasts, our youth hostel in London offers communal spaces to meet people from around the world, fully equipped cooking facilities and somewhere to wash and dry your clothes. In short, it’s a real home away from home and the perfect place from which to explore the following fantastic London Halloween attractions:

Events

The Halloween Jazz Ball

This is hosted by the Candlelight Club, takes place on the 26th October and will be held at a vintage location somewhere in the centre of London. It’s a pop-up Halloween party with a 1920’s theme and will feature live jazz music, cabaret performances, a real-life fortune teller and delicious cocktails. Throw your vintage party clothes on and head on down for a party that’s so much fun it’s frightening.

The Horror Movie Marathon

If you like horror movies, then the Prince Charles Cinema on Leicester Square is the place to be on the nights of 19th and 27th October. That’s because they’ll be hosting their legendary all-night horror film screenings lasting as long as 12 hours. Choose between Teen Horror, Classic Horror and Modern Horror, stock up on a mega-bucket of popcorn to keep you going through the night and settle in for a marathon of scares, screams and spookiness.

Halloween Dog Walk and Show

Ever wondered what a dog would look like in a Halloween costume? Well you can stop wondering and get yourself down to the Spaniards Inn in Hampstead on October 27th between 11am and 3pm. That’s where you’ll get to see, enjoy and fun to take part in Halloween dogs walk, with owners and their pets entering into the spooky spirit of the season, at the same time as raising funds for the excellent cause of rescuing homeless dogs.

Tours

Fright Night by the London Bar Bus

On selected nights between 24th October and 2nd November you can climb aboard the spookiest bus in London for the Fright Night experience. Travel the darkened streets and hear tales about the likes of the Vampire of Piccadilly Circus and the Black Dog said to terrify people who spot him haunting the area around St. Pauls. As well as the spooky tales and a trip around London sights you get to dress up and drink a toast to the witches and goblins on the streets outside.

The Spookerage

On the night of Halloween itself you can enjoy a ghostly guided walk through the centre of Greenwich, starting at 7pm. After hearing hair-raising tales of this historic area of London you get to visit the 200-year-old cellars of Davy’s Wine Merchants. Sip Halloween cocktails as you’re treated to more ghostly tales followed by a delicious meal at 9pm. Fancy dress is recommended, and there’s even a prize for the best outfit.

Kids

Spooktacular Kids Tour

Take the kids on an open top bus tour of spooky London on selected dates between 24th October and 2nd November. Not only will they get to see many of the most famous landmarks of the city, they’ll also be regaled with the kind of spooky stories, horrible history and dreadful doings that kids of all ages love to hear about.

Halloween at Harry Potter Studios – Master the Dark Arts

Few things go together as well as Harry Potter and Halloween. From now until 10th November you get to combine both by visiting the Warner Brothers Studio Tour to take on the challenge of mastering the dark arts. The Great Hall looks stunning with more than 100 pumpkins hanging from the ceiling and a delicious Halloween spread set out for everyone to enjoy, and when you eaten your fill you get to peek behind the scenes with secrets of filming and live demonstrations of the dreaded Death Eaters.

Places

Madame Tussauds and Alien Escape

The legendary Madame Tussauds is a must-see at any time of the year, but at Halloween they really pull all the stops out. Famous waxworks are dressed in Halloween costumes and you can even choose to enjoy an interactive, theatrical adventure while you visit. Take on the legendary movie monster the Alien and try to find your way out of a trail of blood and gore before the Alien manages to find you.

The London Dungeons

The fact that under 15s aren’t allowed in the London Dungeons gives a clue to just how scary it really is. During October they go all out to be even more terrifying than usual, taking you on a horrific historical tour of the foggy, haunted streets of London, where the dreaded plague lurked around every corner and villains like Guy Fawkes plotted in the shadows.
