Top things to do in London in Your 20s and 30s

London is one of the greatest cities in the world, and it attracts Italians from all parts of the globe, and of all ages. There’s no getting away from the fact that the vibrancy and excitement of this twenty four hour city is especially suited to younger people, however, and that’s why our youth hostel in North London offer the perfect accommodation for Italians. London backpackers in their twenties and thirties can enjoy accommodation, which is clean, comfortable, secure and safe. Even more appealing to young tourists from Italy is the fact that our UK hostels are located within easy reach of the heart of the city. The nearest Tube station is just thirty seconds walk away, while the bus stop across the road is served by routes which run right to the centre of London’s top tourist attractions. Come to stay at our backpackers hostel in London when you’re in your twenties or thirties and these are just a few of the things you could look forward to:

Karaoke Box

Karaoke is the kind of thing you try to pretend you’re too cool to take part in, and then, before you know it, you find yourself up on stage, following the bouncing ball along the lyrics to Abbas ‘Dancing Queen’ and wondering if you can manage to hit all the high notes. If you’re going to make a fool of yourself (or maybe show off what a great singing voice you’ve got) then what could be better than doing it in an intimate room shared by just you and your friends rather than random members of the public? That’s exactly what you’ll find at Karaoke Box on Frith Street in Soho. As well as private Karaoke rooms offering a selection of your favourite tunes, Karaoke Box provides snacks, a cocktail menu and chic booth seating. It takes Karaoke and turns it into a proper, sophisticated night out, without ditching any of the fun. Book your room in advance and start warming up your vocal chords.

Go Back in Time to a Speakeasy Bar

There are enough bars and pubs in London for you to enjoy a different one every night of your stay in a backpackers hostel. What would make your time in the city really special, however, would be seeking out somewhere that’s a little bit different and distinctive, and that’s just what you’ll find in one of London’s off-beat speakeasy bars. The original speakeasy bars were illegal drinking dens set up in America during prohibition, and the London versions take the idea of providing something secret and hidden and run with it. One such themed bar is The Bletchley in Chelsea, which has a World War II theme. You don’t just order a drink when you visit The Bletchley – you have to crack codes to earn the cocktails you want to enjoy. Tasks include getting to grips with Morse code and defusing a ‘bomb’. In return, you’ll enjoy the treat of cocktails which are individually crafted each and every time, so that no two are ever quite the same.

Back to Nature

Richmond Park London

London is a packed, noisy, vibrant city crammed with gritty urban excitement. It is also, however, a place with more than its fair share of green spaces and idyllic ‘back to nature’ experiences. Richmond Park is one such example, offering 2,500 acres of greenery packed not only with plant life but also with wild deer. Particularly beguiling is the Isabella Plantation, an enclosed garden located in the park. If you visit the park in spring, you’ll be just in time to seek out the garden and take in a stunning vista of camellias, azaleas and rhododendrons. It’s a natural visual feast that will remind you that London never loses the ability to take visitors by surprise.

Careful Whisper

St Paul's Cathedral London

Being in your twenties or thirties you should still be fit and healthy enough to clamber up the 259 steps which take visitors to the famous Whispering Gallery in St Paul’s Cathedral. The gallery would be famous purely on the basis of its architectural splendour and the views it allows over the cathedral, but what really secures it’s ‘must-visit’ status is a strange acoustic trick. Put simply, if you stand at one side of the dome and whisper quietly into the wall, the words you say will be heard, quite clearly, by someone standing opposite on the other side, some 33 metres away. And that’s why you need to be careful exactly what you whisper.
